Charlie Mariano - The son of Italian immigrants from Boston, Mariano has an amazing "brilliant" bright sound. One of his most famous early recordings was a piece called "Celia" with the legendary Charlie Mingus. Mariano is also known for being a pioneer of "world jazz" and introducing a combination between the sound of Indian music and traditional jazz.
